As an experienced API Management Engineer, you will collaborate with various teams to design, build, and operate a scalable, secure, and robust API ecosystem using IBM's API management technologies.Main Responsibilities:API Design and Development: Utilize IBM API Connect, DataPower gateways, or equivalent API management platforms to design and build APIs.API Governance: Establish policies for authentication/authorization (OAuth2, API-key, JWT), rate limits, quotas, versioning, and lifecycle management.API Gateway Management: Route, transform, orchestrate, and mediate protocols (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) while controlling traffic.Developer Portal Setup: Publish APIs, onboard internal/external consumers, document APIs, and facilitate self-service subscriptions.Monitoring and Analysis: Track API usage, performance, latency, error metrics, and analyze usage patterns and production issues.Security and Resilience: Secure back-end integrations, validate payloads, mitigate threats, and ensure high availability.Familiarity with Cloud Platforms: Possess good knowledge of AWS cloud like API Gateway, S3, EKS.Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with API management best practices, emerging protocols (GraphQL, WebSockets), and evolving IBM tool capabilities.
