The role of the Senior/ Principal Programmer is to provide programming support across a range of projects, clients and therapeutic areas.Key ResponsibilitiesThe programmer position will be responsible for manipulating large databases and generating reports to enable analysts to explore real world healthcare data assets.Proficiency in SAS, SQL and R programming is required with experience in implementing complex logic.Candidates must have excellent skills in creating complex analysis data sets derived from various data sources with careful attention to outliers and errors.Technical Requirements:Database programming using SQL, expertise in Oncology databases such as Flatiron, COTA and proficiency in R and SQL programming are essential.Experience with Analytic Datasets, patient cohorts and Real World Healthcare claims database is also desired.Beyond technical requirements, effective communication, time management, documentation and leadership skills are also essential.Requirements include: Proficiency in R Shiny or Instant Health Data (IHD) experience, good understanding of Oncology specific analyses such as Line of Therapy algorithms, Survival analysis and different statistical models.Additional benefits include working in compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies and procedures, contributing to internal process improvement initiatives and training others.Minimum Qualification Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics or mathematics with high statistical content, 4+ years of experience in statistical programming, experience with advanced statistical methods and real world healthcare claims data.A Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or Computer Science is also desirable as well as training or experience using the OMOP common data model, Python, R, Databricks or other cloud-based software and pharmaceutical industry experience.
