Initiative Coordinator
Vital Strategies India Services Private Limited, is a private limited company focused on strengthening and revitalizing public health systems through design and supporting scalable solutions to leading causes of death, disease, and injury. Vital Strategies provides technical assistance, consultation, as well as project management, design, and evaluation to a wide range of private and public sector clients, to further its mission to improve and save lives, including through non-communicable disease prevention, policy, advocacy and communication, data for health, road safety and environmental health.
This is a full-time position for our road safety program Maharashtra.
All members of the Vital India team embody the organization’s values and are integral to promoting our brand, supporting our growth, and ensuring operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Serve as a focal point for the project
● Liaise with partners as needed.
● Advise and guide the partners on processes, protocols, best approaches to work.
● Provide support to connect the partners to government agencies, work with government agencies and partners to develop detailed work plans with clear milestones.
● Develop systemic approach for monitoring and evaluation of tactical plans, milestones and ensure effective implementation of the work plans.
● Evaluate initiative progress and submit findings (including a review of monitoring data) in regular written reports to city focal point, Vital Strategies, and relevant partners.
● Provide recommendations for overcoming barriers to progress and for leveraging opportunities to rapid achievement of success.
● Be on call, with Vital Strategies for all coordination related activities.
● Communicate regularly and report project progress.
● Support Vital Strategies in collecting necessary data.
● Support organization of remote and/or in-person meetings and other relevant events.
● Representing project in meetings and relevant events, as needed.
● Continuously keep Vital Strategies informed on local situation about road safety issues, political changes, disease outbreaks and other information about the environment that Vital Strategies and the partners work in.
● Maintain regular communication with all concerned partners and government agencies
● Supervise and lead the program team for coordinating work across various international partners and government agencies.
Qualification and Experience
· Master's degree in any field with 8-9 years of relevant experience
Desired Experience
· Prior experience of working with government agencies (experience in Maharashtra is preferred)
· Prior experience of working on transport, road safety, urban development
· Prior experience of working and managing teams.
Skills & Abilities
· Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams comprising of technical and non- technical actors amongst government and initiative partners
· Proficient in MS office (word, excel, PowerPoint), pdf, digital literacy, handling virtual meetings, conferences, trainings
Language Proficiency
· Marathi language proficiency is required.
