Job Title: AI Engineer – Voice Agent SpecialistWe're seeking a highly skilled AI engineer to join our team and help us redefine customer engagement in the healthcare sector.Architect & Deploy AI Models: Lead the development of Large Language Model (LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, integrating NHS data sources and generating accurate responses for chatbot and voice agent interactions.Prompt & Voice Agent Engineering: Craft, iterate, and optimise prompts and voice-agent dialogue flows to maximise response relevance, reduce latency, and ensure clinical safety across text and voice channels.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with frontend and backend teams to integrate AI and voice agent components into our Azure-hosted microservices architecture.Performance Monitoring & Optimisation: Instrument AI and voice-agent pipelines, analyse logs and user feedback, troubleshoot edge cases, and implement continuous-learning improvements.Innovation & R&D: Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in LLMs, RAG, conversational AI frameworks, and NHS-specific compliance to inform our technical roadmap.Testing & Validation: Define and execute rigorous test plans to validate model accuracy, voice-agent performance, and compliance with healthcare standards.Your Skills and QualificationsExpertise in prompt engineering, LLMs, RAG frameworks, and voice-agent/dialogue-system design, with demonstrable projects or open-source contributions.Advanced proficiency in Python, comfortable building APIs, familiarity with Next.js/React for frontend integration.Strong understanding of Azure services, containerisation, and relational databases.Experience designing microservices, distributed architectures, and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.Domain interest in healthcare technology, patient-centric design, and improving NHS primary care workflows.Excellent written and verbal skills to articulate complex AI and voice-agent concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.About This RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of AI-powered healthcare solutions.What You'll BringA passion for AI-driven innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.An eagerness to learn and grow with our organisation, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
