This is a great opportunity to contribute your expertise in creating detailed and professional AV system documentation that ensures seamless project execution.Role SummaryThe AV Solutions Design Specialist will be responsible for producing accurate, detailed, and professional audiovisual system drawings and documentation. This role involves close collaboration with AV engineers, project managers, and installation teams to translate conceptual designs into build-ready CAD drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed AV system drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent drafting toolsCreate and update floor plans, riser diagrams, rack elevations, signal flow diagrams, and wiring schematicsInterpret project specifications, scopes of work, and designs from AV engineersCoordinate with project teams to ensure drawings align with engineering standards and installation requirementsCollaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors for integration of AV systems into construction documentationMaintain documentation standards in line with company guidelines, client requirements, industry best practices, and relevant codes/regulationsManage and update drawing templates, symbol libraries, and design blocks for efficiency and consistencyRevise/redline existing drawings based on field updates or project modificationsPrepare submittal packages, as-built drawings, and project documentationOrganize, maintain, and archive project files and drawing setsQualificationsAssociate's degree, technical certificate in Drafting/Engineering Technology, or equivalent experienceProficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); experience with Revit, Visio, Stardraw, or Bluebeam is a plusSolid understanding of AV components, structured cabling, and signal flowAbility to interpret architectural and construction drawingsStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesFamiliarity with AVIXA standards and industry terminology is an advantagePreferred Skills5+ years of experience in AV drafting, low-voltage systems design, or related drafting rolesKnowledge of commercial AV systems including video conferencing, control systems, digital signage, and audio distributionExperience working across multiple verticals such as corporate, education, finance, healthcare, government, house of worship, and entertainment venuesExposure to manufacturer documentation from vendors like Crestron, Extron, QSC, Biamp, etc.Ability to work independently on multiple projects and deliver within deadlinesWhy Join Us?At New Era Technology, we believe in empowering our people with the right tools, opportunities, and culture to grow.
