We are seeking a Chemical Engineer with management experience to lead operations at our Varanasi, India, facility. This mid-size slow pyrolysis plant, located in the Karkhiyaon Agropark, processes rice husk and employs a team of 25 staff members in a 24x5 operational environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations and will have the opportunity to grow into the Chief Engineer role for broader activities across Uttar Pradesh.

Start Date: 01 February 2025


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operations: Ensure the stable and efficient functioning of slow pyrolysis equipment, adhering to technical guidelines and production standards.
  • Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Participate in equipment assembly, oversee operational integrity, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly track equipment parameters to meet AgroCCS quality benchmarks and optimize plant performance.
  • Leadership and Management:
  • Lead operational shifts and foster a culture of knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Supervise, train, and support local teams to enhance productivity and skill development.
  • Technology Development: Fine-tune pyrolysis processes and identify opportunities for technological improvement.
  • Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with local partners, stakeholders, and authorities, ensuring seamless collaboration and compliance.
  • Smooth Supply Coordination: Support feedstock supply coordination in collaboration with local FPOs.
  • Reporting: Manage production reports and assist with MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) for carbon credit generation.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Proven expertise in pyrolysis technology and plant operations.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing diverse teams.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical skills.
  • Commitment to sustainability and carbon-neutral initiatives.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Hindi or other regional languages is an asset.
  • Patience and strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
