Location : Bangalore, Full Time

Qualification : Engineering Graduate (Specialized in Mechanical, Automobile or Production engineering is preferred)

Experience : 10-14 Years of experience in Supplier Quality Assurance/ Supplier Technical Assistance


Position Overview: The Lead engineer with good experience in Quality Assurance/ Quality Control focusing on Marmon holdings India sourcing products quality activities. We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance engineer (Work experience in Ferrous Castings, Forgings, sheet metal & precision machined components) to help establish an Indian/Global supplier base. Responsible for ensuring products are meeting the quality standards and support new product developments to ensure the robustness of FAIR & PPAP samples builds.


Key Responsibilities / Functions:

 Lead Supplier evaluation audit for new and existing suppliers by assessing their manufacturing /technology capabilities to meet product quality, cost, delivery of components and QA management system requirements for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and any other applicable customer internal quality system requirements

 Work with Marmon Engineering / R&D to assist, research and communicate the supply requirements of all the resourcing projects & new product developments

 Lead supplier development strategy and manage supplier performance metrics.

 Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends

 Provide leadership, direction, management and development to the Supplier Engineering team  Conduct Feasibility with vendors to clarify manufacturing related queries

 Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards

 Verify and validate each stage of development milestone and ensure on time FAIR sample submission and SOP launch

 Auditing FAIR samples and get approvals

 Promote continuous improvement techniques such as Lean, Six-Sigma & Poka-Yoke

 Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities

 Responsible for leading the solution for supplier component concerns, driving Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

 Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements

 Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of 3 supplier quality issues

 Drive improvement utilizing lean methodologies, ensuring supplier compliance, driving systematic problem solving and process improvements plan to deliver value

 Specify, develop, and validate advanced technology, quality information and test equipment

 The position requires both domestic and international travel, though mainly domestic.

 Other activities as determined to support the sourcing and business development efforts.


Required Qualifications:

 Mechanical/Production Engineer with min 10-14 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality and Supplier technical assistance (Work experience in Ferrous Castings, Forgings, sheet metal & precision machined components). Possessing Auditor certification in IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 will be an added advantage

 Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings

 Good understanding of IATF 16949 & ISO 9001

 Knowledge of measurement techniques. Should be able to handle height gauge, micrometers, verniers and Interpret CMM reports.

 Experience in problem solving techniques such as Fish bone Diagram, 8D & SCAR

 Good experience of Ferrous castings, forging and Precision machined manufacturing process.

 Good knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and other related quality technologies.

 Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment  Planning and prioritizing activities  Good communication and interpersonal skills  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
