You'll take technology to unimaginable places and really make a difference for UPS and our customers.Job Summary:This position provides input, support, and performs full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). He/She participates in component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements. This position provides input to applications development project plans and integrations. He/She collaborates with teams and supports emerging technologies to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. This position provides knowledge and support for applications development, integration, and maintenance. He/She provides input to department and project teams on decisions supporting projects.Key Responsibilities:Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using COBOL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, SAS, JCL, PL/1Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.Collaborate with business stakeholders and project managers in an SAFe Agile environment to meet project deadlines and deliverables.Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Maintain and enhance existing applications to improve performance, security, and functionality.Develop and execute unit tests, integrate solutions, and provide detailed documentation.Ensure the highest quality of code and contribute to the overall improvement of the development process.Stay current with emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry trends related to mainframe development.Mandatory Skills and Experience:4+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development.3+ years of practical experience in COBOL programming.Strong proficiency in COBOL programming and related tools.Solid experience with DB2 (database design, queries, and optimization).Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with JCL (Job Control Language).In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with stakeholders and team members effectively.Experience working in a corporate banking or financial services environment is a plus.Additional SkillsFamiliarity with version control and issue tracking tools (e., Git, Jira).Knowledge of AzureDevOps/TFSKnowledge of SAFe Agile Knowledge of API TESTING, POSTMANFamiliarity with Linux, Google Cloud --> Pub/Sub or Any messaging Queues. Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or International equivalentMust have 4+of years of IT experienceBachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field - PreferredEmployee Type: PermanentUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
