Backend Engineer for Real-Time SystemsAbout the Role:We're seeking a skilled backend engineer to design and develop resilient back-end services that power real-time communications analytics and automation at scale.Your Responsibilities:Design, implement, and ship backend APIs using Django/DRF, background/async jobs with Celery/RQ, and secure integrations with external services.Bulk build and optimize real-time data pipelines for call quality metrics; own observability, tracing, and service-level objectives (SLOs).Troubleshoot SIP/VoIP issues using packet captures and logs; automate analysis where possible.Containerize workloads with Docker, contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and collaborate on cloud deployment in Azure/AWS.Apply distributed-systems patterns like idempotency, retries, backoff, and circuit breakers for scale and fault tolerance.Model data in PostgreSQL and MongoDB; tune indexes/queries; maintain migration discipline.(Good-to-have) Prototype AI/ML features for analytics, anomaly detection, and conversational agents.Requirements:Proficiency in Python and Django: RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization, background tasks, testing, and performance tuning.Fundamental knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/2; practical debugging skills with Wireshark; familiarity with NetFlow/SNMP.Understanding of telephony fundamentals: SIP signaling, RTP/RTCP, call flows, PSTN/VoIP basics; exposure to session border controllers (SBCs).Cloud and DevOps expertise: working knowledge of Azure/AWS, Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus; comfort with CI/CD and secrets management.Distributed systems understanding: microservices, event-driven design (queues/streams), horizontal scaling, resilience patterns.Database proficiency: hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB (schema design, indexing, migrations, backups/restore).Mindset: ownership, bias to automate, clear communication, and a product quality bar that values reliability and latency.What We Offer:A high-impact role in critical, high-scale real-time systems.Autonomy, fast feedback loops, and a collaborative environment.Competitive compensation and flexible remote work arrangements aligned to IST time zone.
