Job Objectives

  • Preparation and review of Master Operating Manuals to fulfill Master Documentation development plans

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic and Planning:

  • Planning for on-time delivery of Master Operating Manuals in line with departmental goals
  • Participate and contribute to the continuous improvement of Master Operating Manuals

Functional:

Core:

  • Understand Editorial Guide, Base, and Master modules, and Company standards for Manuals, and adhere to released documentation processes
  • Understand the products and processes to be documented in Master Operating Manuals
  • Develop Standard Technical Terms necessary to prepare Master Operating Manuals to maintain uniformity and consistency in written content
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain information and review Master Operating Manuals
  • Develop machine-specific Master modules to prepare chapters of the Master Operating Manuals
  • Self-review the Master modules and Master Operating Manuals to ensure document accuracy
  • Drive CFT (Cross-Functional Team) reviews to receive inputs from various functions for improvement of Manuals
  • Complete Master Operating Manuals on time and "First Time Right," following Editorial Guide, Technical Terms, and Company standards
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Controls, Process, Service, and QA teams to validate Master Operating Manuals
  • Complete the project with a "Project Acceptance Form" involving all stakeholders

Internal Process:

  • Support Team Lead in preparing and updating departmental monthly reports
  • Prepare and maintain reports on CFT feedback and improvement actions suggested by various functions

People Development:

  • Foster and maintain a customer-centric culture within the documentation teams to meet desired customer needs
  • Support team members in fulfilling their job responsibilities
  • Assist Project Documentation Writers in implementing Master Operating Instructions for projects

Key Result Areas (KRA)

  • Develop Standard Technical Terms necessary for Master Operating Manuals to maintain uniformity and consistency in content
  • Self-review of Master modules and Master Operating Manuals to ensure accuracy
  • Drive CFT reviews to gather inputs for manual improvements
  • Validate Master Operating Manuals
  • Timely and accurate completion of Master Operating Manuals per Editorial Guide, Technical Terms, and Company standards

  • NPD/AE & Control Teams: Receive engineering inputs and review master documentation
  • After Market Teams: Receive site feedback and align documentation with after-market requirements
  • Controls and QA Teams: Validate master documentation

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Experience with Structured Authoring tools, CMS, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, Photoshop & Illustrator, etc.
  • Proficient in writing Operating Instructions/User Manuals
