Translate these into clearly defined GIS-based requirements.Collaborate closely with stakeholders to comprehend their business needs, pain points, and expectations.Develop clear GIS-based requirements from the gathered insights.Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and interviews with end-users, domain experts, and technical teams to gather insights and requirements for GIS solutions.Prepare comprehensive business requirement documents (BRD), functional requirement specifications (FRS), user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure clarity and alignment between business and GIS teams.Act as a bridge between GIS developers, data analysts, and business users to evaluate the technical solution from a business perspective.Develop or optimize spatial workflows that align with business processes to improve operational efficiency.Utilize tools like Visio or Lucid chart to create process maps, use-case diagrams, and workflow charts.Collaborate with the GIS architect or technical team to ensure the solution design meets business objectives.Support the definition of the data model, identification of data sources, validation of spatial data quality, and development of reports, dashboards, or maps that provide actionable business insights.Define test cases based on requirements and coordinate UAT with stakeholders to ensure the final GIS application meets the agreed-upon specifications before deployment.Develop training materials, user manuals, and conduct training sessions to onboard users effectively.Track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables to ensure timely delivery and resolution of issues.Maintain metadata, naming conventions, and symbology standards to ensure consistency across the organization.Research and evaluate GIS software, tools, and platforms that align with business needs to recommend suitable options.Analyze trends in geospatial technology, regulatory changes, or industry practices that could influence the business or GIS system usage.The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in business analysis and a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. Additional MBA qualifications are highly desirable.
