Job Description

• The Sr. Functional Configurator-Production Support is responsible for providing technical and functional support to the end-users of the applicable systems, manages the system availability and performs routine maintenance tasks to ensure the business functions.
• Will collaborate closely with our technology partners to resolve issues impacting current production systems and communicate statuses and updates to business and technology stakeholders.
• Will perform SAP/IS Retail configuration and integration for mid-sized projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
• Proficient with cross functional modules like SD and MM.
• Has a solid understanding of the process of gathering business requirements, troubleshoot production issues and configuring program properties to meet those requirements and ensure the application availability.
• The Sr. Functional Configurator has a strong knowledge of SAP/IS Retail Master Data and how it needs to integrate with other functional areas.
• Coordinate/collaborate with Architecture and Infrastructure Teams on best practices, design and environment setup. Updates the Lead, Manager or Sr. Manager on day to day activities and status. An understanding of retail business processes is preferred.

Responsibilities:-

• Primary responsibility is to interact and support application users and ensure availability of the applications in Production environment
• Work with the business users to analyze and research service desk tickets to resolve defects that are identified
• Communicate the final solution to the business and coordinating the implementation of the solution to the production environment, Updating system documentation
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand and support new projects.
• Gather detail requirements from business users for approved mid-sized projects, bug fixes and minor enhancements to existing projects.
• Perform design for approved mid-sized projects and minor enhancements to existing projects.
• Perform program configuration/modification, data set-up and cleansing activities..
• Coordinate User Acceptance testing (UAT) with the Business Client.
• Provide system Requirement Documents (SRD) and Systems External Specifications (SES) documents to the UAT and System test groups, to assist with testing scenarios.
• Coordinate training and rollout plans for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
• Provide direction and collaborate with cross functional teams and assigned contractors.
• Interface with Business Stakeholders, cross functional teams, IT Infrastructure teams, Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured and delivered
• Willing to be available 24/7 for severity one issues

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred, along with BS in Computer Science or related field.
• Identifying Gaps between AS-IS and TO-BE business processes and fixing the Gaps by means of optimized solutions.
• Working cohesively with Business Process Owners to ensure business process design and supporting SAP configuration and developments are in line with the business needs.
• Configuration, development, maintenance and enhancement of various sales and procurement related processes in SAP Sales & Distribution, materials management.
• Production support of existing processes in SAP SD, MM modules.
• Retail/business experience preferred.
• Ability to succinctly identify business requirements and document design
• Basic knowledge of ABAP debugging.
• Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical
• Ability to multi task, work independently with minimal direction
• Ability to understand code and debug programs to investigate issues will be an asset.
• Solution oriented, creative thinker
• Strong decision making and solid experience with SAP / IS Retail implementation methodology, tools and exposure to Agile methodology.
