About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer with expertise in electromechanical and electronic hardware costing for consumer products, life sciences, and energy domains. This role focuses on product teardown, should-cost analysis, VAVE workshops, and cost optimization for PCBA, wire harnesses, displays, battery modules, and other active/passive components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive value engineering and supply chain efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform Product Teardown and Should-Cost Analysis for electromechanical productsDevelop and maintain cost models for:PCBA, Wire HarnessesDisplays (LCD, OLED, TFT), Connectors, SensorsBattery Modules and Electronic ComponentsAnalyze Gerber files, schematics, and BOMs for accurate cost estimationIdentify cost drivers, benchmark against industry standards, and support supplier negotiationsLead VAVE workshops to identify cost-saving opportunitiesCollaborate with design and sourcing teams to optimize PCBA layouts and reduce electronic component costsSupport new product development with early cost estimationAnalyze supplier quotes and manufacturing processes for cost validationDrive localization strategies and supply chain cost reductionMonitor market trends, technology shifts, and cost fluctuations in electronics manufacturingMaintain a repository of costing methodologies and historical cost-saving case studiesPrepare and present cost analysis reports and value engineering proposals to stakeholdersRequired Skills & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related fieldExperience: 3–8 years in Should Costing and Value Engineering for electronics hardwareStrong understanding of:PCBA design and manufacturingWire harnessing, display technologies, and electronic component sourcingProven track record of achieving measurable cost savings through engineering and sourcing strategiesExcellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skillsFamiliarity with COTS tools like Siemens TcPCM, aPriori, SEER
