Mortgage Underwriting Team Leader

Job Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to oversee the Mortgage Underwriting team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a group of associates to achieve high levels of productivity and quality.About This Role:The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mortgage underwriting, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding production targets.You will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing your team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.Maintaining accurate and detailed records of team performance, including daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.Collaborating with other internal teams to ensure seamless production and effective communication.Providing exceptional customer service by responding to complex queries and complaints from external and internal customers.Leading and participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a team of associates to meet all SLAs relative to any and all functions in the Mortgage underwriting area.Maintain accurate and detailed records of team performance, including daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.Coordinate activities of the department with the manager to include workflow monitoring, process improvement, training, reporting, and special projects.Provide recommendations for strategies and process improvements to add value to teams and clients.Monitor and evaluate staff performance, attendance, and generate reports as necessary.About You:A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, finance, or accounting.At least 5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding production targets.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.What We Offer:A competitive salary and benefits package.The opportunity to work with a dynamic and forward-thinking organization.A collaborative and supportive work environment.Ongoing training and development opportunities.The chance to make a real difference in the lives of our customers.
