Senior Team Leader

Responsible for developing, coaching and growing multiple teams that are embedded in the global engineering teams of various Barry-Wehmiller equipment divisions. As such must be able to understand the requirements, priorities and working norms of multiple businesses and to recruit, direct and support the growth of the offshore team members enabling these businesses’ success. Role requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, technical knowledge and the ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and consistently deliver results. Experience in industrial equipment and machinery such as paper, converting, packaging, textile, and discrete product machinery required.Core ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead and mentor 5-8 specialized engineering teams with diverse technical focus areasFoster team growth through coaching, performance management, and career developmentCreate an environment of continuous improvement and technical excellenceAttracting and retaining the required talentsCustomer Relationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders and product line engineering leadersActively listen to and comprehend client needs, priorities, and communication preferencesTranslate ambiguous requirements into clear engineering deliverablesPresent technical options and recommendations with confidence and clarityFacilitate productive working sessions to define project scope, timelines, and resource requirementsProject Delivery ExcellenceEnsure consistent, high-quality delivery across all managed projectsImplement effective project management methodologies appropriate for each teamProactively identify and mitigate potential delivery risksEstablish clear accountability and performance metrics for team membersDrive continuous improvement in engineering practices and delivery efficiencyStrategic CommunicationProactively communicate with product line leaders to anticipate needs and resolve concernsProvide transparent status updates and effectively manage expectationsNavigate complex organizational dynamics to advocate for team needsCultivate strong interpersonal relationships across geographical and cultural boundariesBridge communication gaps between onshore and offshore teamsFluency in English essential. Machine building, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience will be an added advantageMandatory Skills – Engineering:Adept in 3D CAD modeling and detailing with GD&T, Stack up analysis, MBD experience (advantage), Adherence to CAD standards (ISO, DIN, ANSI)Good experience in design and development followingDesign reviews, FMEA, design verification/validation using DFX Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks Simulation/ANSYS WorkbenchEngineering design calculationsKnowledge on standard raw materials, OEM parts selectionFamiliar with Electrical / Controls / Pneumatics and Hydraulics basicsExperience in using VAVE for cost optimization (certified) will be an advantage3D CAD software proficiencySolidWorks (Must) / Creo & UG NX (added advantage)Travel:May need to travel up to10% each year based on requirements.
