High-Performance Computing Specialist

HPC Infrastructure Head RoleAs a senior leader in our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. This involves designing, building, and optimizing large-scale computing systems to meet the needs of our semiconductor chip design and development workloads.Key Responsibilities:Design and Implementation: Develop and implement scalable HPC architectures, including compute, storage, and networking components. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing IT systems.Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize system performance to ensure efficient resource utilization, high throughput, and low latency. Implement monitoring and logging tools to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.Storage Systems: Design, implement, and manage storage systems, including Lustre, NetApp, GPFS, NFS, and Azure Blob/NetApp Files. Ensure high-capacity, high-throughput storage solutions that meet the needs of our users.Datacenter Builds: Plan and execute datacenter builds and expansions, including rack design, power, cooling, and networking requirements. Work with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and within-budget project completion.Job Schedulers: Oversee job schedulers and workload managers (LSF, Slurm, PBS, Grid Engine) to ensure efficient resource allocation and utilization. Collaborate with CAD/EDA tool users to troubleshoot performance issues.Security and Compliance: Ensure system security, license management, and compliance with industry standards. Implement robust security protocols to protect sensitive user data and prevent unauthorized access.Cloud Computing: Drive cost optimization by balancing on-premises vs. cloud HPC solutions. Design and implement cloud bursting strategies for EDA workloads. Collaborate with vendors (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens EDA, Azure, storage providers) for escalations and support.Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely and effective support.
