Genetic Counselor

Position: Genetic CounselorRole Overview:We are seeking an experienced Genetic Counselor to provide genetic risk assessment, counseling, and education to patients and families in a diagnostic healthcare setting. The role requires strong knowledge of genetic testing, interpretation of results, and effective patient communication to support informed medical decisions.Key Responsibilities:Collect and analyze family, medical, and genetic histories to assess risk of inherited conditions.Counsel patients and families on genetic testing options, implications, and outcomes.Interpret genetic test results and communicate findings in a patient-friendly manner.Provide emotional support and guidance to patients dealing with genetic conditions.Collaborate with diagnostic laboratory teams and physicians for test selection and interpretation.Ensure patient confidentiality, ethical counseling practices, and accurate record-keeping.Stay updated on new developments in genetic counseling and diagnostic technology.Qualifications & Experience:Doctorate in Genetic Counseling or related field.Minimum 2 years of experience in genetic counseling, preferably in a diagnostic or healthcare environment.Strong knowledge of genetic testing methods and interpretation.Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
