Role Overview As a Lead Backend Engineer , you’ll be responsible for rewriting and modernizing our backend APIs using Java Spring Boot and microservice architecture . You’ll work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, focusing on latency optimization , query performance , scalable architecture , and distributed caching strategies . What You’ll Do Architect, develop, and optimize high-performance microservices in Java/Spring Boot. Reduce API latency and improve system throughput for high-volume trading workloads. Design and fine-tune complex SQL queries; optimize database performance. Implement distributed caching, async messaging, and resilient system design. Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to deliver business-critical APIs. Ensure stability, clarity, and order in fast-moving projects. Ability to mentor junior engineers/interns as required. Optionally leverage AI-assisted code generation and test automation to accelerate delivery. What We’re Looking For 8+ years of backend development experience using Java/Spring Boot. Strong grasp of microservice architecture , REST APIs , WebSocket, SQL optimization and scalability patterns . Experience with Redis , Kafka , MSSQL (or any other DB like Postgres, MySQL), profiling tools , and performance tuning . Exposure to cloud-native (Kubernetes, Docker) environments preferred (especially on MS Azure). Startup mindset — thrives in fast execution cycles, ambiguity, and evolving requirements.
