Role- Machine Learning Intern


Role Overview: We are looking for passionate and talented ML interns to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on projects in Computer Vision (CV) and/or Natural Language Processing (NLP) in drug discovery research. You will collaborate on projects that leverage advanced machine learning algorithms to analyze and interpret complex biological datasets, including high-dimensional omics data, histological images, and other biomedical data types. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a real-world context, learning from industry experts and contributing to impactful advancements in drug discovery and life sciences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior data scientists and engineers to develop, test, and train machine learning models for real-world applications.
  • Assist in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and dataset management for CV or NLP projects.
  • Implement and fine-tune machine learning algorithms, ensuring best practices and robust methodologies.
  • Perform model evaluation and optimization to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Document project progress and present findings, insights, and updates to the team.


Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with essential libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
  • Completed at least one machine learning project, preferably in Computer Vision or Natural Language Processing.
  • Solid theoretical understanding of fundamental ML concepts, including supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation metrics, and data handling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and version control (e.g., Git).
