They should be able to gather business requirements, conduct stakeholder workshops and interviews, and design GIS workflows and business processes.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and Analyze Business Requirements: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.Conduct Stakeholder Meetings and Interviews: Organize and facilitate meetings with end-users, domain experts, and technical teams.Document Functional and Non-Functional Requirements: Prepare business requirement documents, functional requirement specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.Act as a Liaison Between Technical Teams and Business Users: Function as a bridge between GIS developers, data analysts, and business users.Design GIS Workflows and Business Processes: Develop or optimize spatial workflows that align with business objectives.Collaborate on GIS Solution Design: Work with the GIS architect or technical team to ensure solution design meets business objectives.Support GIS Data Analysis and Reporting: Help define data models, identify data sources, validate spatial data quality, and develop reports, dashboards, or maps providing actionable business insights.Perform User Acceptance Testing: Define test cases based on requirements and coordinate UAT with stakeholders.Provide Training and Support: Create training materials, user manuals, and conduct training sessions to onboard users.Monitor Project Progress and Deliverables: Track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.Evaluate GIS Tools and Technologies: Research and evaluate GIS software, tools, and platforms that meet business needs.
