Senior Monitoring Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced Monitoring Architect to lead the design, assessment, migration, and optimization of enterprise-grade monitoring platforms. This role is critical as the client undergoes a major business separation initiative—requiring a full evaluation of the current monitoring ecosystem and strategic planning for migration, replacement, or modernization.The architect will provide expert guidance, define the future-state tooling architecture, and ensure operational readiness during the separation. Key responsibilities include assessing the client's current monitoring toolset and determining the optimal strategy for migration or replacement, defining future-state monitoring and operations architecture aligned with scalability, reliability, and business separation requirements, conducting gap analysis and providing modernization recommendations, leading architecture and deployment strategies for various monitoring platforms, establishing dashboards, alerting standards, performance baselines, and unified monitoring integrations, architecting automation workflows using Ansible, Python, or similar tools, integrating monitoring and telemetry platforms with network management solutions, developing and maintaining automated workflows for configuration management and incident response, leading workstreams supporting the client's major business separation initiative, defining migration plans, timelines, dependency mappings, and risk mitigation strategies, overseeing the implementation and validating operational readiness in the separated environment, partnering with network engineering, security, operations, and enterprise architecture teams, preparing architecture documentation, decision papers, standards, and governance materials, mentoring and guiding engineering teams on monitoring and automation best practices, and ensuring seamless integration with existing IT infrastructure.Responsibilities:Assess the client's current monitoring toolset and determine the optimal strategy for migration or replacement.Define future-state monitoring and operations architecture aligned with scalability, reliability, and business separation requirements.Conduct gap analysis and provide modernization recommendations.Lead architecture and deployment strategies for various monitoring platforms.Establish dashboards, alerting standards, performance baselines, and unified monitoring integrations.Architect automation workflows using Ansible, Python, or similar tools.Integrate monitoring and telemetry platforms with network management solutions.Develop and maintain automated workflows for configuration management and incident response.Lead workstreams supporting the client's major business separation initiative.Define migration plans, timelines, dependency mappings, and risk mitigation strategies.Oversee the implementation and validate operational readiness in the separated environment.Partner with network engineering, security, operations, and enterprise architecture teams.Prepare architecture documentation, decision papers, standards, and governance materials.Mentor and guide engineering teams on monitoring and automation best practices.Requirements:A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.8–12+ years of experience in monitoring, observability, automation, and network architecture roles.Strong expertise with ThousandEyes, LiveActionNX / LiveNX, SolarWinds suite, CMDB/Inventory platforms, and automation frameworks like Ansible.Hands-on experience integrating tooling ecosystems with network management platforms like Cisco ACI.Proven ability to assess enterprise environments and develop tooling migration or replacement strategies.Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, and operational workflows.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with technical and leadership teams.Bonus Points:Experience supporting M&A, divestiture, or business separation initiatives.Knowledge of ITIL, CMDB governance, and event correlation concepts.Relevant certifications like Cisco CCNP/CCIE, SolarWinds SCP, etc.
