About This RoleThe ideal candidate will be a part of our International Tax team assisting clients on various corporate tax issues, tax advisories involving DTAA implications, digital tax, cross-border transactions, evaluating jurisprudence, analysing transactions end-to-end from Income-tax and FEMA perspectives. They will deal with tax controversy / litigation matters of clientele.Key ResponsibilitiesTaking responsibility for client engagements and assignmentsHandling client engagements end-to-end related to Direct Tax Laws, such as Tax Structuring, Tax Advisory, On-going Compliance, Tax Litigation support, etc.Analyzing, researching technical issues, and interpreting provisions under the Income Tax Act as also provisions pertaining to International Tax, dealing with interpretation of Tax TreatiesAssisting in representing clients in assessments, appeals, and other related income-tax matters before Tax OfficersMaintaining the status of open litigations, tax risks analysis, and defense strategy on an ongoing basisDrafting submissions for tax assessments, appeals, penalty, show cause, revision, order giving effects, refunds, recovery, rectification, and other income-tax proceedingsDeveloping good rapport with client managementAssisting seniors in execution and management of assigned engagements with team supportProactively solving complex problems of client tax mattersAssisting in identifying opportunities in existing client pursuits and endeavouring to convert themCoordinating with Seniors & Partner on planning and management of assignmentsProviding timely and high-quality services and managing client expectationsUpdating clients on ongoing matters on a prompt and regular basis, keeping track of industry developmentsTaking technical sessions as per learning and development initiativeEffectively and cordially handling team members which may comprise of Associates/ Trainees, etc.RequirementsQualified chartered accountants with experience in Direct Tax - Income Tax & DTAAs, International TaxWorking knowledge of FEMA & Corporate LawWillingness to handle tax office mattersWork experience of minimum 5-10 years post qualificationSkillsKeeping up to date with updates/amendments in tax laws, judicial precedents, etc.Demonstrating innovative and critical thinking in managing projectsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and numerical skillsGood interpersonal skillsPositive attitude and self-motivatedPassion for client servicingNumber crunching abilityExcellent eye for detail and deliberationEfficiency in MS Office and report/submission drafting skillsOwnership and responsibility of clients/tasks assignedOverall pleasing personality
