This is a hands-on position, working in a state-of-the-art purpose-built 24/7 GSOC. You will be responsible for monitoring physical security functions, detecting and assessing threats, reporting incidents, and determining impacts on business operations, employees, and facilities. Situations monitored and actioned can result from technical failures, extreme weather, political instability, crime or terrorism.You will use various tools to accomplish these functions, such as global access control and alarm monitoring systems, integrated video monitoring systems, enhanced visitor management systems, and in-house applications.The GSOC operates 24/7, therefore, you must be flexible and able to work on weekends,  night and day shifts and any designated shift patterns as required by the shift rota along with a willingness to assist the team with overtime as needed. ​Duties and Responsibilities​Provide excellent customer service and ensure timely response to incidents, alarms, notifications, and calls for service on their relevant shiftEnsure that all forms of communication, such as emails, phone conversations, and personal interactions, are conducted in a confidential, courteous and professional manner and documented appropriatelyMaintain knowledge of the SOC-specific standard operating proceduresManage life safety, alarm, communications, reporting, video management, and access control functions at designated locationsInvestigate and respond to alarms promptlyEvaluate and process information received from all available sources, and respond with appropriate communication and dispatch proceduresCommunicate security issues or emergencies by escalating information to department leadership, local law enforcement, and emergency services, such as EMTs, Fire Departments, etcRegularly participate in security/safety training programs to stay current on critical SOC responsibilities and competencies inclusive of drills and tabletop exercisesWrite accurate and concise reports for team members and department supervisors.​Requirements Relevant work experience in security, research, analysis, investigations or customer service Ability to send out informative emails and action alarms on timeAbility to think criticallyA quick learner with the ability to multi-taskAttentive, organised, and detail-orientedComfortable working in a fast-paced environmentA strong team player with the ability to work independently as neededExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer service skillsAbility to think quickly, multi-task, problem solve, prioritise and coordinate responses in a fast-paced work environment.Nice to have College / University degree preferredPrevious Security Operations Centre (SOC) experience.​Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applicationsFamiliarity with access control systems, CCTV monitoring systems, and incident management platforms.
