Job Title: Linux Repository MaintainerWe are seeking a skilled Linux software repository maintainer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our software repository.The ideal candidate will have expertise in Linux, bash scripting, C, and Python. You should be proficient in compiling and creating software from source code, managing software dependencies, and patching software. Additionally, you should have knowledge of GCC and its flags, as well as Makefiles.A strong background in tracking software vulnerabilities (CVEs) and providing solutions is also essential. Familiarity with CVS and Git is necessary for version control. Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently are required.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for working with upstream developers and internal teams. Fluency in English is required.This part-time contract position offers flexibility and autonomy. The initial tenure is six months, renewable based on performance. The job location is remote, allowing for a good broadband internet connection with IPv6 facility.The minimum experience required is one to two years. Candidates with experience working on Slackware Linux are preferred but not mandatory.In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of our software repository, ensuring it remains secure and up-to-date.
