Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Supervisor to oversee and implement workplace safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will monitor compliance, identify risks, and foster a culture of safety to ensure the health and well-being of employees and compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong knowledge of safety standards, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Policy Implementation:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Training & Education:
  • Organize and lead safety training sessions, workshops, and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
  • Ensure all employees are knowledgeable about emergency procedures, PPE usage, and safe work practices.
  • Incident Management:
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate with management and external agencies for resolution and reporting.
  • Monitoring & Inspections:
  • Conduct regular inspections of the workplace, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and PPE.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety documentation, permits, and certifications.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
  • Develop and test emergency response plans, including evacuation and first aid procedures.
  • Coordinate drills and ensure all employees are aware of emergency protocols.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and ensure the organization adheres to all legal requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors during inspections or audits.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Proven experience in a safety role, with at least 3+ years as a Safety Supervisor or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ISO 45001).
  • Certification in workplace safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, NEBOSH, CSP) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
