Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Data Governance Manager to lead and execute data governance strategies, ensuring compliance, enhancing data quality, and fostering a data-driven culture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with tools like Microsoft Purview, Collibra, and a proven track record in implementing data governance policies and programs.


Key Responsibilities

Policy Implementation

  • Develop and enforce enterprise-wide data governance policies.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Refine policies to meet evolving business needs.

Framework Development

  • Design scalable data governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to embed governance into business processes.

Data Literacy & Stewardship Programs

  • Lead data literacy initiatives through training and workshops.
  • Oversee data stewardship roles, ensuring data quality and issue resolution.

Tools & Technology Oversight

  • Leverage tools like Microsoft Purview and Collibra for data cataloging and compliance monitoring.
  • Manage implementation and optimization of governance tools.

Data Quality & Compliance

  • Monitor key data quality metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to global data privacy regulations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

  • Engage with leaders and teams to identify governance priorities.
  • Develop dashboards and present governance performance updates.

Change Management & Advocacy

  • Advocate for data governance adoption and promote accountability.


Required Skills and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related fields.

Experience

  • 7+ years in enterprise data governance.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Purview and Collibra.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Technical Skills

  • Data governance concepts, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau for reporting.

Leadership Skills

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in Collibra or Microsoft Purview.
  • Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK principles.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven data governance and advanced analytics.
