Job Title: Remote System Administrator
Location: Remote (Anywhere in India)
Compensation: Total compensation ranges from 11 lakhs per annum - 15 lakhs, based on experience.
Duration: This is a contract position. Only apply if you are comfortable with contract work. The position is approved for full-time work up to a year and is likely to extend.
Notice Period: Only accepting candidates with a notice period of 30 days or less, or those who can start immediately.
About NYU Langone: NYU Langone is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center, known for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education. We are seeking a dedicated System Administrator to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor applications configured on LAMP and WAMP software stack.
- Install software patches and updates in a testing environment before deploying them to production systems.
- Work with IT teams to test and maintain performance of database systems on SQL Server and MySQL.
- Respond to and resolve system-related incidents, outages, or performance issues.
- Work with team members to analyze and document root causes of incidents to prevent future occurrences.
- Assist team members in planning and implementing infrastructure changes, such as deploying new systems or server migration.
- Maintain documentation of system and network architecture, and infrastructure changes.
- Work with IT teams to ensure that all systems are up-to-date and free from known vulnerabilities.
- Manage firewall alerts and update application security manager (ASM) rules.
- Plan and perform disaster recovery testing with Server and Networking teams.
- Maintain data security protocols and compliance when working with sensitive data such as PHI and PII.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of server infrastructure and networking.
- Experience with Linux and Windows servers for web-based applications (IIS and Apache).
- Understanding of web applications such as CMS (Content Management Systems), EDC (Electronic Data Capturing systems), and survey questionnaire systems like Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey.
- Proficiency in LAMP/WAMP stacks.
- Experience in healthcare IT, particularly with PHI (Protected Health Information) and sensitive data.
Notes from the Manager: This role requires a solid understanding of server infrastructure and networking. The ideal candidate should be familiar with web applications, LAMP/WAMP stacks, and healthcare IT from a PHI perspective. You will work with multiple IT teams on deployment, disaster recovery, and firewall management.
