As a seasoned professional in US mortgage underwriting, you will have the opportunity to work with various loan documents, credit reports, and collateral information. Your role as a Live Underwriter is to evaluate complete loan documents and provide approval or denial decisions.Evaluating evidence of borrower's willingness and ability to repay obligations is crucial in this position. You will need to thoroughly calculate income from salaried, business, retired, and rental sources, and review collateral and property valuation.The following key responsibilities are essential for success in this role:Evaluate loan documents and make approval or denial decisionsReview credit reports to verify trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records, and credit reconciliationCalculate income from various sourcesReview collateral and property valuationVerify assets, including bank statements, retirement accounts, mutual funds, and other investmentsConduct credit analysis based on borrower's income, assets, liabilities, and collateral (4C of Underwriting)Evaluate evidence of borrower's willingness and ability to repay obligationsTo excel in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:Minimum 3 years of underwriting experience in US mortgageSound knowledge of US residential mortgage guidelinesExposure to underwriting processes and guidelinesExcellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment skills
