We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior System Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our data center IT infrastructure and cloud environment. Additionally, you will work closely with the IT Systems Lead to drive strategic initiatives and improvements.


Responsibilities:

Linux/Unix Administration:

  • Manage and maintain UNIX/Linux operating systems across the data center.
  • Automate tasks using proficient scripting languages (Shell, Python) for improved efficiency.
  • Apply system patches and upgrades to maintain security and stability.

Virtualization and Cloud Technologies:

  • Possess expertise in KVM hypervisors and virtualization concepts.
  • Manage L2 operations within the OpenStack environment (bonus point).
  • Basic understanding of container platforms like OpenShift and OKD is a plus.
  • Experience provisioning compute resources in the cloud environment.

Storage and Backup:

  • Configure and administer SAN storage solutions for optimal performance.
  • Implement robust backup and recovery strategies, including disaster recovery (DR) for applications.

DevOps and Automation:

  • Utilize configuration management tools like Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like YAML.
  • Leverage monitoring tools (Zabbix, ELK, Grafana) to proactively identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Identify and implement performance optimization strategies for the data center infrastructure and applications.



Application Support and Security:

  • Provide technical support to development teams (DevOps) throughout the application lifecycle.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of security best practices and implement security measures.
  • Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing (VAPT) remediation efforts.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Document procedures, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain consistency.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Experience in managing web hosting environments like LAMP stack is a plus.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network connectivity issues (TCP/UDP protocols).
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of IT assets and manage resource allocation.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through effective collaboration with colleagues.
  • Work closely with the IT Systems Lead to drive strategic initiatives and improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data center administration, Unix/Linux, cloud technologies, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix administration and proficient scripting languages (Shell, Python).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible) and infrastructure monitoring solutions (Zabbix, ELK, Grafana).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (KVM) and basic understanding of container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift/OKD) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAN storage management and backup/recovery strategies is essential.
  • Experience with a version control system (e.g., Git) is a plus.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required.
  • Adaptable and enjoys staying up to date with emerging technologies in the IT field.


Technical Certifications:

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent
