Software Engineering SpecialistWe are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable data platforms that can handle large amounts of data in real-time.About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have experience in building high-throughput APIs, working with modern object-oriented programming languages, and implementing CI/CD pipelines. They should also have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable data platforms that can handle large amounts of data in real-timeWork with Product Engineering teams to turn internal and product requirements into sustainable solutionsDevelop tools and infrastructure to collect, distribute, and store logs, traces, metrics, and more from all services and productsStay up-to-date on technologies relevant to the role and identify trends and opportunities to ensure we use the best possible techniques and toolsEnsure implementations and development activities always lead towards enriching knowledge base documentationQualificationsBachelor or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar4-7 years of data engineering applications on a large-scale distributed computing infrastructure in a cloud environmentKnowledge of and experience with designing and building a highly scalable data platform for ingesting, processing, storing, and forwarding large amounts of dataExperience in building real-time streaming framework using Kafka Streams, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, etcKnowledge of and experience scaling one or more of the popular data processing and distributed computingExperience with relational SQL, NoSQL databases, and Data ModelingKnowledge of designing and building data lakes that can be used to power analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence reportsKnowledge of and experience designing and developing high throughput APIsKnowledge and hands-on experience with modern infrastructure practices, like Infrastructure as Code, immutable infrastructure, service oriented architectures, etcTechnical leadership and knowledge to provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operationsStrong experience working with modern object-oriented, Functional programming languages (Java, Python, Scala, C#, Go, Node)Experience working with application frameworks such as Spring BootExperience working with Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development, and implementing CI/CD pipelinesGood communication skills (Fluency in English, written and spoken)
