Key Responsibilities:

  • FX Development: Design, create, and implement high-quality visual effects for live-action projects, including but not limited to explosions, smoke, fire, water, and other natural phenomena. Specifically experts in fire (lava), water, and blood simulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with directors, VFX supervisors, and other departments to ensure that FX elements align with the overall vision of the project.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., Houdini, Maya, Nuke) to produce and optimize FX simulations, maintaining a strong focus on performance and efficiency.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot technical challenges related to FX creation and integration, offering innovative solutions to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Review and critique FX shots to ensure they meet the studio’s high-quality standards and are delivered on time.
  • Research and Development: Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques, and actively contribute to the development of new workflows and methodologies.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in visual effects for live-action film or television.
  • Expert in fire (lava), water, and blood simulations.
  • High-level proficiency in Houdini.
  • Strong understanding of physical dynamics and simulation principles.
  • Excellent artistic skills with a keen eye for detail, composition, and color.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of FX work, highlighting creativity and technical proficiency.
