Our offshore office in India plays a crucial role in ensuring timely, accurate, and profitable project delivery. To further strengthen our operations, we are seeking an experienced General Manager/Director to lead our growing team and drive operational excellence.


Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned General Manager/Director to oversee the daily operations of our steel detailing office in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding the team, maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring project profitability, and streamlining operational processes. This role is focused on leadership, project management, quality control, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations of the offshore steel detailing office, ensuring projects meet quality and efficiency targets.
  • Manage and grow the team from 10 to at least 20 people, focusing on staff retention, career development, and morale.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget, optimizing profitability.
  • Implement rigorous quality control processes, ensuring steel detailing projects meet high standards.
  • Streamline operational processes to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster a positive team environment, ensuring engagement and swift resolution of personnel issues.
  • Oversee all projects, providing leadership and decision-making support to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Anticipate and proactively address challenges to prevent delays or quality issues.
  • Report to senior management at HQ on office performance, profitability, and team growth.
  • Occasionally travel to HQ for management meetings and strategy discussions.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the steel detailing industry.
  • Expertise in Tekla software is required, with knowledge of SDS/2 considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience in final checking, team leadership, and project management within steel detailing.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
  • MBA or equivalent qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiency and project profitability.
