1. JOB ROLE & INTERFACE MANAGEMENT:

The Job description is for Technology Transfer Manager, role of managing transfer of innovations (in the area of Creams, Lotions, Leave-on and extended leave-on formats such as Serums, Gels, Fluids, Hair Oils, Shampoos, Colorants, Soaps, Depilatories, Deos etc). The Key brands in these areas are Boroplus, Navratna, Fair & Handsome, Kesh King, Zandu, 7 in 1 Hair Oils, Emami Naturally Fair etc. Manager/platform leader is a responsible person for delivering all functional responsibilities for a product category; independently lead the process design & technology initiative for mentioned brands. He ensures and manage seamless deployment of the mix across the Emami factories. The person shall also interface with the leaders of Manufacturing and Quality assurance department and co-ordinate for flawless product scale-ups. The Manager- Technology Transfer will report to R&D Group leader.

The Profile requires the candidate to be able to manage specifications for new processes for all Innovation, Re-novation & Re-engineering projects in the portfolio. The job will be focused on leading a Harmonization approach across the different manufacturing set-ups and processes, standardizing the same thereby significantly improvising innovation speed by maintaining product quality.

The candidate, during the course of innovation development will need to understand the evolving global trends on manufacturing techniques & tools that can be deployed to ensure compliance to internal development protocols e.g. Pilot Plant trials, Storage stabilities, Safety & Hygiene, Plan of Scale-up across Lead Site and Success Rating of innovation scale-up.

2. COMPLEXITY MANAGEMENT

Independently Lead New products scale-up.

Represent Technology transfer function in building project network and own the Products scale up from Lab to Pilot to shop floor while ensuring compliance of activities as per network.

Planning, monitoring and reviewing the technical work plan / deliverables of individuals working on technical tasks in innovation projects.

Driving compliance and delivery of documentations as per project management and technical areas such as Specification freeze, formulation lock and stability assessments.

Handling interfaces of Formulation design, Quality assurance, Analytical, Brand, Operation and Packaging during product life cycle management.

Responsible for managing relationships with functional team members, suppliers/partners and in-house manufacturing units.

Supporting and co-ordinating intellectual property protection and patent, regulatory and Toxicological clearance for Manufacturing in initial stages

3. INNOVATION QUALITY

Work with all functional teams (Formulation, Marketing, Supply Chain, Quality and Packaging) within the Category for seamless NPD flow.

Ideate and lead cost saving programs for the category.

Interact with the Performance Assessment team, Analytical team and jointly create specifications of RMs and FG, Technical dockets, Processing and manufacturing hardware specification

Ensuring the Quality of the Product being manufactured is compliant to the quality detailed in the Product Quality docket during the Innovation Transfer.

4. ACTIVITY SPAN

Deploy formulations and technologies.
Progress various development projects for launch of new products and re-launch of existing products.
Commissioning of processes and trouble shooting in factories in the areas of product quality, formula and process control.
Handle product developmental cycle from lab scale to commercial scale
Generate Product Technology Dockets(Process, HACCPs ) and Development Reports
Design processes and hardware for manufacturing new products and ensure its compliance at factory for first time right execution.
Assess the current manufacturing set up’s and recommend suitable process for existing products.
