Position: Manager Broadcast Operations - Sports

Purpose: This position will be required to drive the highest level of viewer satisfaction by ensuring uninterrupted and error-free broadcast operations through effective coordination with all stakeholders

Education: Graduate (in Broadcast or Media)

Experience: 6 - 9 years of experience in media & broadcast operations

Location: Mumbai

Reporting Relationship: Duty Supervisor Operations (Senior Manager)

Band: Band E2

Business/Channel/Function: Broadcast Operations and Network Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

On-air technical presentation of the Network of all SPN Channel feeds for technically acceptable subtitles, graphics audio languages and video signals
Recovery procedures to maintain seamless transmission of Channel feeds.
Of new or revised transmission logs, ensure accurate revision or appending of received logs.
Required configurations and ingesting of Live Sports events into digital video servers.
Technical QC in various contents received for broadcast, e.g., transmission logs, Channel graphics, programmes, and commercials.
Skills associated with transmission, video encoding, or other media manipulation via manual and computerised systems.
Ability to work on urgent and overlapping transmission tasks under extreme pressure.
Caching, transferring, and managing media required by Playout, Creative Services and Access Services, Compliance and other clients, ensuring all details concerning the material identity are correct.
Preparing and spot-checking cached media to ensure it‘s ready for delivery and the required technical quality is not compromised
Media for other platforms using transcode or simple edits and conforms.
Attention to detail is essential
Should be willing to work 12-hour shifts
Primary :
Traffic Schedules, ensuring that both Content and Sales schedules are in sync.
The on-air signal and ensuring quality delivery of our content to the viewers.
And complete goodnight procedures for Fiber and Satellite orders.
A thorough Sync and Fax check with onsite personnel is needed before live shows and events.
route and record content for archive and playout, and a strong understanding of common broadcast signal problems to identify and rectify them (audio level, distortion, format, sync issues, video issues etc.)

Secondary :
Content for air as needed.
Technical issues, including escalation to Engineering as needed.
Training new hires in various stages of learning, as instructed by the BOC manager or supervisor.

Additional:
The pre-timing/pre-final logs for the sales/marketing team to insert the promotion elements.
Complete, error-free, technical-ready TX schedules.
Compliance check and any matters about the TX schedules production.
TX Schedule Files and ensure timely delivery of various reports to various stakeholders.
Playlists of events, including preparation of standby promo according to the standby content list provided by the channels.
Preparing all emergency materials during cancellation or bad weather conditions (LIVE Events).
Traffic Schedules with planning to ensure programs are updated alongside the timeline.
Create, modify and maintain Traffic Schedules with all Events, Avails and Breaks information as requested.
Correct commercial placement in Traffic schedules, adjust positions, break amendments, and special positioning as per the request from the Sales team.
With internal and external parties—SPTL, Programming, Regional offices, affiliates, and Sony UK—on TX and traffic-related issues.

Managing team performance
team performance at an overall and individual level and provide support/ guidance wherever required to ensure achievement of yearly plans.
Effective resource allocation enhances the capability quotient of team members and drives higher team engagement through appropriate HR interventions.
