Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience managing both a production facility and a team. They should be able to analyze each step of the manufacturing process and make effective use of resources to deliver desired outcomes. The candidate will also have an ability to follow safety and compliance guidelines diligently in order to create a healthy work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

1.Plant Operations & Production Management

- Oversee daily work: Laser cutting, forming, welding, assembly, and finishing of material to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
- Regular collaboration with management, engineering, procurement, warehouse, Designing and accounts teams to plan capacity and resource allocation in the plant.

2.Quality, Compliance & Customer Standards

- Lead Quality Check (QC) processes; ensure compliance with ISO 9001 or industry-specific standards.
- Drive initiatives like APQP, PPAP, FMEA for robust product quality management.

3.Safety & Environmental Management

- Oversee audits, and corrective actions per ISO 45001 or OHSAS standards.
- Maintain safe operations and ensure regulatory compliance.

4.Continuous Improvement

- Implement Kaizen, TQM or TPM methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste and scrap.
- Track key KPIsProduction, scrap %, on-time delivery, cost of poor quality.

5.Project & Business Planning

- Manage upgrades; develop budgets, timelines, and risk mitigation plans.
- Align plant-level goals with overall Management strategy.

6.Maintenance & Reliability Management

- Establish preventive and predictive maintenance for CNC lasers, press brakes, welding equipment, and tooling.
- Collaborate with external maintenance vendors and inhouse teams.

7. Leadership Management

- Lead supervisors and teams across production, QC, and maintenance.
- Drive performance of individual; motivate staff with safety-first culture.
- Capability to handle local teams and external stakeholders.

8. Supply Chain & Inventory Control

- Ensure availability of raw materials (sheet metal, fasteners, welding consumables). Manage stock, conduct cycle counts, and minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate vendor performance and inward/outward logistics.

9. Stakeholder & Client Management

- Engage with clients/ customers, conduct plant audits, resolve technical or quality concerns
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors and government agencies (If required).

10.Administrative Task Management

- To be proactive and ready to take up additional responsibilities whenever business needs it.
- Administrative task related to plant.

Qualifications:

- BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
- 10 to 15+ years in manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication experience in field.
- At least 57 years in a leadership/plant management.
- Experience in running high-volume light engineering or fabrication units.
