Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

- Fabric Sourcing & Development:
- Identify and source knit fabrics from both domestic and international suppliers, ensuring alignment with buyer specifications.
- Collaborate with the sampling department to develop new fabric qualities based on tech packs and seasonal trends.
- Engage in fabric development for various knit, woven, and non-woven materials with local mills .

- Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with fabric suppliers and mills.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Develop a network of backup suppliers to mitigate risks associated with delivery delays or quality issues.

- Production Oversight:
- Monitor the daily production output from weaving, knitting, dyeing, and printing mills.
- Coordinate with the washing department for special finishes, hand feel, and aesthetic dry processing.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.

- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production facilities.
- Address any quality issues with suppliers and implement corrective actions .
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Manage all documentation work including Purchase Order (PO) raising, supplier payments, and transporter follow-ups.
- Ensure suppliers comply with company policies and industry standards, including sustainability and ethical practices .

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Textile Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabric sourcing and production management within the apparel industry, with a focus on knits.
- Strong understanding of knit fabric properties, garment construction, and production processes.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in using tools for production planning and tracking.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Familiarity with sustainable sourcing practices.
- Ability to analyse market trends and adapt sourcing strategies accordingly.
