Job Description Engineering Manager (LMS) - This is a senior technical development/engineering role within the Liquidity Management team, an Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and guiding engineering teams, overseeing projects, and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering solutions. They combine technical expertise with leadership skills to manage teams, develop strategies, and drive product development. - Designed and developed scalable services handling millions of daily transactions using Kafka and Redis, improving system throughput and reliability. - Designed the real-time transactions integration with the customer portal, enhancing user experience and reducing processing time. - Developed insightful currency and balance visualization charts to provide real-time financial insights to users. - Designed and implemented the periodic settlement process, ensuring timely and accurate fund reconciliation. - Created detailed design documents for development stories, improving team productivity and code quality. - Identified pain points and automated key technical processes, enhancing system efficiency and reducing manual effort. - Provided critical production fixes by replicating complex issues despite limited logs, demonstrating strong functional expertise and problem-solving skills. - Established strong relationships with most prominent stakeholders as a trusted technical expert and single point of contact (SPOC) - Team Leadership and Management: - Supervising and mentoring engineering teams. - Assigning tasks and managing workloads. - Fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. - Conducting performance reviews and providing feedback. - Recruiting and onboarding new team members. - Project Management: - Developing and executing project plans. - Managing project budgets and timelines. - Tracking project progress and identifying potential roadblocks. - Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. - Technical Oversight: - Technical expertise in Spring Boot, Java, REST APIs, Cloud and Microservices Architecture, and functional knowledge of Liquidity Management Systems and Trade Finance. - Providing technical guidance and expertise. - Ensuring the technical accuracy and quality of engineering work. - Staying up-to-date on industry trends and technologies. - Strategic Planning and Execution: - Developing and implementing engineering strategies. - Identifying and addressing potential risks and challenges. - Contributing to product development and innovation. - Communication and Collaboration: - Communicating effectively with team members, stakeholders, and other departments. - Collaborating with sales, marketing, and other teams to achieve business objectives. - Representing the engineering team in meetings and presentations. - Resource Management: - Managing project budgets and resources. - Identifying and securing necessary resources for the team. - Optimizing resource allocation and utilization. - There will be ongoing interaction with business stakeholders, both users of the system and product owners, as well as interaction with other technology asset teams. - The role holder will be exposed to banking/TWC/liquidity related products, financial messaging, liquidity functionality and in particular relating to Finastra TI Plus, TICC, FCC, microservices and Intellect LMS. - The role of Senior Engineering will provide critical thinking and a high degree of technical innovation and attention to detail while being recognized as a trusted advisor to the team and stakeholders. - The characteristics include being versatile, displaying leadership qualities and enthusiasm to take on new problems across the full SDLC, ultimately assisting in moving technology forward. What you will bring - Total 16+ years with minimum of 8-year exp in leading a team of Software Development. - Solid Experience of leading teams Engineering / Development / Maintenance Cat1 / critical production applications - Experience of developing & maintaining critical applications in Trade Working Capital and Liquidity domain. - Reconciliation and investigation experience. - Functional Understanding of transactions pertaining to letter of credit, collections, open accounts, standby LC/guarantees, Liquidity management. - System Integration-microservices, containers, FBCC, TICC. - Experience in Trade products like TI Plus, Finacle, Surecomp, Trade 360, Temenos T24, Intellect LMS. - Having experience of Engineering / Development / Maintenance - Java microservices, AWS, Intellect LMS, Finastra TI Plus, Finastra FCC/TICC. - Detailed Knowledge in Change /Problem / Incident management - Solid Experience of managing recoveries and major issues. - Effective communicator and who can work under pressure - Precise Questioning and Answering skills are a must in this role - Experience of running Disaster Recoveries / simulations and BCP exercises. Tools and technologies - Experience in using ServiceNow for incident, problem management and CMDB. Candidate should understand Incidence governance and production change governance. - Candidate should be well versed with logging and monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, DX-APM, CloudWatch etc. - Candidate should have experience in traversing Java and Spring boot code in GIT and make code fixes in production. - Candidate should have a good understanding of cloud technologies in both AWS and Azure and should be capable of Engineering / Development / Maintenance microservices and 3rd party products in cloud and on-prem environments. - Candidate should be familiar with following technology elements - Docker containers - Kubernetes, - Kafka, - MQ, - Unix Shell scripting - Control-M - REST APIs and API gateways like Kong - Databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL etc. - Load balancers and API Proxy - Familiarity with Security tools like CyberArc, Hashicorp Vault, Snyk, Checkmarx etc.
