Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Electrical & Mechanical Technician located in Alingapuram. The Electrical & Mechanical Technician will be responsible for equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintenance & repair tasks. The technician will ensure the proper functioning of electrical and mechanical systems, diagnose and fix issues, and carry out regular maintenance schedules to enhance system reliability and performance. Ready to relocate to Raghavapuram, Telangana for work ON-Site accommodation available, Internet access, Food provided. 3-6 month contract based work, can turn into a 8-months stint work every year if interested. Job Responsibilities: Safety & Inspection - Complete safety walkthrough and PPE check - Review previous shift logs and handover notes - Inspect emergency systems and communication equipment Operational Monitoring - Record hourly readings of all critical parameters (temperature, pressure, vibration, output) - Monitor turbine-generator performance and cooling systems - Check oil levels, water flow, and system pressures - Track grid parameters and energy generation data Mechanical Maintenance - Inspect rotating equipment and bearings - Check hydraulic systems and governors - Maintain cooling and lubrication systems - Service valves, gates, and auxiliary equipment Electrical Maintenance - Monitor generator and excitation systems - Check switchyard equipment and transformers - Maintain protection and control systems - Verify battery banks and DC systems Preventive Maintenance - Execute scheduled maintenance tasks - Perform routine cleaning and adjustments - Conduct basic calibration checks - Replace consumables and filters as needed Documentation - Complete log sheets and maintenance records - Report abnormalities and defects - Update equipment registers - Prepare shift handover reports Emergency Preparedness - Maintain readiness for unit trips and grid disturbances - Monitor weather and operational conditions - Coordinate with grid operators as required - Respond to alarms and protection system operations Qualifications - Skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair - Experience with Preventive Maintenance techniques - Proficiency in Troubleshooting issues and problems - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Technical certification or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical engineering - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints - Time management and organizational skills - Ability to use Google Sheets/Excel, ChatGPT. - Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
