Machines This job involves designing developing and testing control system features for Caterpillar products The control systems engineer will utilize a variety of tools to support all steps of the software development process Responsibilities Gather product and system requirements to further specify and document control system requirements Design and implement embedded control system for new functions or the enhancement of existing ones Core functions are implemented in MATLAB and Simulink Test and debug control system software using a variety of methods and tools to demonstrate requirements optimize system performance and improve code quality Collaborate with clients and partner teams to provide post-production support Qualifications BE B Tech ME M Tech in Electrical Electronics Mechatronics Mechanical Engineering 5 to 10 years experience in Embedded Software or Control System Software Development Required Skills Experience in MATLAB Simulink Knowledge of Control Systems Understanding of AUTOSAR architecture Good Trouble Shooting Debugging skills Knowledge on Software Configuration Tools Knowledge on Software testing and Tools CANalayzer CANape etc Ability to investigate analyse data and identify root cause of customer issues Good Communication and proven ability to work across software layers Skill Descriptors Analytical Thinking Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems Level Working Knowledge Approaches
