Director of AI/ML Research

Job Description

We are looking for a Director of AI/ML R&D for our Earth Observation Data Team, you will spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning initiatives. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, engineers, and researchers to enhance our capabilities in processing and analyzing earth observation data, delivering impactful solutions for our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research & Development: Stay informed of the latest trends and advancements in AI/ML and earth observation, driving R&D initiatives that enhance our competitive edge.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on the application of advanced machine learning algorithms and data processing techniques tailored to earth observation data.
- Project Execution: Oversee the full project lifecycle for AI/ML applications, from ideation and design to implementation and evaluation, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project success and impact.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic vision for AI/ML initiatives in earth observation, aligning with organizational goals and market needs.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders and external organizations to identify opportunities for AI/ML integration and innovation.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate technical concepts and project outcomes to non-technical stakeholders, translating data insights into actionable strategies.
- Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with academic institutions, industry leaders, and research organizations to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

- Master&aposs or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Must-have:

- Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
- Strong expertise in machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and earth observation technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with large datasets and data management practices.
- Passion for leveraging technology in Agriculture, Infrastructure, and Utilities along with addressing environmental challenges.
