Job Description
Strategic Process Improvement
- Identify, evaluate, and lead strategic process initiatives that directly support business goals.
- Analyze existing workflows and business processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and BPM techniques.
- Apply DMAIC/DMADV methodologies to remove inefficiencies, reduce variation, and optimize quality and productivity.
Internal Consulting & Change Leadership
- Serve as the Managing Director's internal process advisor, providing recommendations based on data, process diagnostics, and industry best practices.
- Act as a catalyst for change by building influence with functional leaders and frontline teams.
- Drive adoption of new processes by facilitating alignment, clarifying benefits, and navigating resistance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration (No Direct Reports)
- Work across departments-manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, quality, HR, IT, finance, and commercial-to align improvement efforts with overall strategy.
- Influence stakeholders without formal authority through data, logic, facilitation, and strategic communication.
- Establish yourself as a respected, neutral party in cross-functional problem-solving.
Performance Metrics & Reporting
- Define, track, and report KPIs to measure the success of process initiatives and business impact, such as:
1. Process Cycle Time
2. First-Pass Yield
3. OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
4. Cost per Transaction
5. SLA compliance across functions
- Build dashboards and reports using ERP and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP, MES platforms) to communicate findings to the MD and senior leadership.
Digital Enablement & Automation Support
- Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation in routine business workflows.
- Collaborate with IT and digital teams to implement RPA, ERP enhancements, and paperless solutions.
- Use process mining or data visualization tools to uncover hidden inefficiencies.
Capability Building & Culture Change
- Promote Lean thinking and continuous improvement behaviors across all levels.
- Deliver workshops, quick wins, and on-the-floor coaching where needed.
- Build informal networks of process champions across the business to support cultural transformation.
The Successful Applicant
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
- Master's degree or MBA is an advantage.
Certifications:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent (required).
- Certifications in BPM, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), or Agile are a plus.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in process improvement, business transformation, or operational excellence.
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver results across multiple functions in a manufacturing or industrial setting (oil & gas preferred).
- Strong background in working without formal authority-must influence through expertise, credibility, and interpersonal effectiveness.
