Business Unit Cubic Transportation Systems Company Details When you join Cubic you become part of a company that creates and delivers technology solutions in transportation to make people s lives easier by simplifying their daily journeys and defense capabilities to help promote mission success and safety for those who serve their nation Led by our talented teams around the world Cubic is committed to solving global issues through innovation and service to our customers and partners We have a top-tier portfolio of businesses including Cubic Transportation Systems CTS and Cubic Defense CD Explore more on Cubic com Job Details JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Senior System Applications Specialist Job Summary The System Applications Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for enterprise applications and their underlying databases This role ensures application availability resolves incidents and performs root cause analysis while managing databases such as Oracle IBM Db2 and Microsoft SQL Server The position also supports application servers like IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic as well as cloud and ERP solutions including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide application support for enterprise systems ensuring uptime and performance Monitor troubleshoot and resolve application and database-related issues Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring problems Administer and maintain databases Oracle IBM Db2 SQL Server including backups tuning and security Support middleware and application servers IBM WebSphere BEA WebLogic Collaborate with development teams for deployments and patching Document incidents resolutions and system changes for knowledge sharing Assist with upgrades migrations and integration projects Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards Minimum Job Requirements Skills knowledge and experience Essential Strong experience in application support and database administration Expertise in Oracle IBM Db2 and SQL Server Knowledge of IBM WebSphere BEA WebLogic and middleware technologies Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities Desirable Experience with scripting languages e g Shell Python Knowledge of containerization Docker Kubernetes Exposure to cloud-native technologies and automation tools Education and qualifications Essential Bachelor s degree in computer science Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience Desirable Certifications in Oracle IBM Microsoft Azure or Dynamics Personal Qualities Customer-Oriented Committed to delivering timely and effective support Analytical Skilled in diagnosing complex application and database issues Proactive Anticipates potential problems and implements preventive measures Collaborative Works well with cross-functional teams Adaptable Comfortable with evolving technologies and environments Strong Communicator Able to explain technical concepts clearly to stakeholders Worker Type Employee
