Team Lead Applications Middleware

What does the job entail?

- Team Lead Applications Middleware is fully responsible for the operations, maintenance and evolution of the Bremen applications middleware and EDI solutions.
- He manages a team of 4 - 5 people from Engineer to Lead Engineer for cluster Bremen in GCC India.
- The applications middleware plays a very vital part of Bremen application landscape. High availability is key to Bremen IT and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and lead the GCC India MW team and the IBM applications middleware and EDI software. This is IBM MQ and IBM B2BI (Business to Business Integrator).
- Manage all BAU activities, drive improvements and manage evolutive change
- Manage availability of the applications middleware and 24x7 on-call support
- Interface between GCC India MW team, Bremen MW Product Expert and Bremen application teams relying on applications middleware integrations

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in application middleware and integration technologies (e.g. IBM) and integration scenarios, ideally with certification; several years as manager or team leader in IT
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English

Technical skills (mandatory):

Operating systems:

- Proficient with Windows and Unix (Linux/AIX) operating systems

Application middleware:

- Managerial expertise in operating IBM applications middleware. This is IBM MQ and IBM B2BI.
- Managerial expertise in corresponding development environments such as MQ Explorer and SI Web Interface

Electronic data interchange:

- Managerial expertise in EDI concepts and solutions, e.g. interoperability with SAP EDI solutions
- Managerial expertise in communication standards such as XML and SFTP

Scheduling:

- Know-how in scheduling tools, ideally SAP BPM (Redwood Cronacle)

Databases:

- Know-how in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL programming

IT Services:

- Managerial knowledge in ITIL (ideally with certification) and ticketing tools (e.g. ServiceNow)

Technical skills (optional):

Managerial skills:

- Experience in Service Delivery in a multi-cultural and complex environment Europe-India
- Ability to manage positive relationships with colleagues, employees and stakeholders
- Ability to lead people and teams to performance using agile methods, e.g. Kanban, Scrum
- Management of time and resources efficiently to handle multiple tasks and topics in parallel and manage on-call
- Technical leadership and delegation skills
- Communicative with all data warehouse stakeholders
- Capability to build and maintain a working and motivated team
- Problem solving and decisions taking mindset
- Mindset of permanent improvement and impediments resolution
