Job Description: Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Distribution Services for a Top pharma MNC Location: Kolkata (HQ) Reporting To: National Head of Supply Chain / Logistics Region: East & Northeast India (Entire Zone) 1. Role Summary The DGM – Distribution Services will be the strategic lead for the company’s logistics and warehouse operations across the East and Northeast regions of India. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end efficiency of the supply chain network, ensuring seamless product availability, regulatory compliance, and cost-optimized distribution from central warehouses to regional stockists. 2. Key Requirements & Qualifications Requirement Specification Designation Deputy General Manager (DGM) Location Kolkata Experience 15+ Years in Supply Chain/Logistics (Pharma/FMCG preferred) Leadership Mandatory experience in Managing Large Teams and multi-site operations. Territory Expertise in East & Northeast (NE) logistics (West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, etc.) Compensation Upto ₹40 Lakhs Per Annum (LPA) 3. Core Responsibilities A. Warehouse & Operations Management - Network Management: Oversee and optimize the operations of all company-owned or 3PL warehouses across the East and Northeast. - Inventory Control: Implement robust inventory management systems (WMS) to ensure 100% stock accuracy and minimize expiry/breakage. - Cold Chain Management: (If applicable) Ensure strict adherence to temperature-sensitive storage and transport protocols. B. Distribution & Logistics - Secondary Distribution: Manage the primary and secondary transportation network to ensure timely delivery to distributors and stockists. - Cost Optimization: Drive initiatives to reduce freight costs and improve turnaround time (TAT) across challenging terrains in the Northeast. - Vendor Management: Lead the selection, negotiation, and performance auditing of 3PL partners and transport vendors. C. Team Leadership & Compliance - Team Handling: Directly manage and mentor a team of Warehouse Managers, Logistics Coordinators, and support staff across multiple locations. - Statutory Compliance: Ensure all warehouses comply with Drug & Cosmetic Act guidelines, GSDP (Good Storage & Distribution Practices), and safety norms. 4.
