Role Description This is a remote role for a Subtitling and Closed Captioning Expert. The professional in this position will create, edit, and synchronize accurate subtitles and closed captions for videos across various platforms and industries. Responsibilities include ensuring cultural relevance, meeting deadlines, reviewing translations for accuracy, and using specialized software to enhance the viewer experience. This position requires collaboration with teams to refine and localize content effectively. Qualifications - Proficiency in subtitling and closed captioning software, with an eye for synchronization and time-coding. - Strong linguistic skills, including fluency in at least one language other than English, and the ability to ensure cultural sensitivity and accuracy in translations. - Attention to detail, proofreading, and quality assurance skills to create accurate and error-free content. - Familiarity with the media, entertainment, or localization industry and knowledge of international guidelines for subtitles and captions. - Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Media Studies, Communications, or related fields is preferred. - Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously. - Experience in accessibility standards and creating captions for audiences with hearing impairments is a plus.
