The team manages Akamai's mapping system and collaborates to enhance availability, reliability, performance, and observability. It establishes KPIs, refines measurement methods, improves dashboards, alerts, operational responses, and examines intricate technical problems.

The Release Engineer II oversees the software release lifecycle, ensuring smooth processes and accurate documentation. Responsibilities include preparing deployments, supporting test infrastructure, and maintaining deployment pipelines. This role also ensures Hadoop databases and lab environments remain operational while facilitating release hand-offs.

As a Release Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

- Preparing release artifacts and documentation for deployment onto the Akamai platform
- Communicating with other operational teams to ensure releases are executed seamlessly and efficiently.
- Designing and implementing tools and pipelines that help automate builds and releases.
- Managing and facilitating engineering and release plans, execution and workflows.
- Managing and maintaining Hadoop clusters, including monitoring, installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and coordinating with development teams.

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

- 2+ years of experience and bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or its professional equivalent
- Possess DevOps principles and familiarity with SDLC techniques. Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
- Have experience working with Linux/Unix systems
- Have familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios and version control system experience such as Git, Perforce.
- Possess knowledge with big data platforms like Hadoop
- Possess solid communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
