Role Overview

The CAPEX and Project Management Specialist will lead and consult on capital expenditure procurement and projects across industries. This role requires expertise in CAPEX procurement, contract management, and project delivery while utilizing specialized CAPEX management tools, project management software, and procurement systems. The specialist will also provide valuable functional inputs for the enhancement and development of CAPEX modules within in-house procurement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage full lifecycle CAPEX procurement projects, from planning to execution, contract management, tracking, and closure.
- Develop, implement, and monitor capital budgeting, approval workflows, and financial controls for CAPEX projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, operations, and IT to ensure CAPEX procurement aligns with organizational objectives and compliance standards.
- Manage CAPEX contracts, ensuring vendor performance, milestone adherence, and spend control.
- Drive continuous improvement of CAPEX procurement processes and integration with project management and procurement functions.
- Partner with product development teams to provide business and functional expertise for CAPEX module design and enhancements in procurement software.
- Facilitate training and adoption of CAPEX management tools and procurement modules among end users.
- Prepare and present detailed CAPEX project status reports, spend analysis, and contract compliance dashboards to senior leadership.

Additional Roles & Responsibilities

- Assess, select, and implement CAPEX management software platforms that combine budgeting, approval workflows, contract tracking, and spend monitoring.
- Ensure seamless integration of CAPEX tools with ERP (SAP, Oracle) and procurement systems for end-to-end CAPEX lifecycle management.
- Apply project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2) and tools (MS Project, Primavera, JIRA) specific to CAPEX projects.
- Support risk mitigation strategies in CAPEX procurement and contract execution.
- Evaluate supplier financial stability and operational capability to mitigate risks in CAPEX vendor management.
- Handle stakeholder communications, escalation management, and audit support related to CAPEX procurement and projects.
- Drive innovation and automation in CAPEX procurement workflows to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Deep expertise in CAPEX procurement, contract lifecycle management, and associated regulatory compliance.
- Extensive experience with CAPEX management tools distinct from general project or procurement software (examples: Cflow, Planview, Precoro, Finario).
- Proficiency in project management tools tailored for CAPEX project scheduling and milestone tracking.
- Familiarity with procurement software supporting CAPEX vendor management and purchase workflows.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills using tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Excel for CAPEX portfolio visualization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to manage complex contracts and projects.
- Functional knowledge to collaborate with software development/product teams on CAPEX module enhancements and digital transformation initiatives.
- Relevant project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) and financial acumen in capital budgeting strongly preferred.

Other Details:

- Should have good communication and presentation skills.
- Should not have blue collar experience only
- Global/MNC exposure is mandatory
- MBA, Consulting, Corporate Background is preferable
