Your Role in the Global Data Engine Be part of our client's team as a SQL Database Administrator, where you'll ensure the stability, security, and performance of SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure platforms. You'll manage deployments, optimize performance, monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, automate processes, and collaborate with global cloud, application, and service delivery teams. Role Snapshot Employment type: Full-time Shift: Day Shift, Weekends Off Work setup: Work from home What You'll Gain - Competitive package - Medical life insurance - Work-from-home setup - Standard government and Emapta benefits - Well-equipped, modern, and accessible offices - Employee engagement - Mentorship and exposure to global leaders and teams - Diverse, inclusive, and supportive culture - Transparent performance management - Unlimited upskilling through Emapta Academy courses What Sets You Up for Success Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience - 3-5 years of SQL Server database administration experience in enterprise or MSP environments - Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises and Azure SQL) Technical Skills - Advanced knowledge of SQL Server architecture, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning - Expertise with SQL Server Agent, SSRS, SSIS, and PowerShell automation - Strong understanding of Windows Server administration and Active Directory integration - Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Monitor, and Azure Backup - Familiarity with HaloPSA, PRTG, or other monitoring tools is an advantage Soft Skills - Analytical and methodical problem-solving approach - Excellent communication and documentation skills in English (French bilingualism is a plus) - Ability to manage multiple client environments and priorities - Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and teamwork Preferred Certifications - Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate - Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator (MCSA/MCSE) - ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification - Any Microsoft SQL certifications Performance Metrics - Maintain database uptime and SLA adherence of 99.9% or higher - Ensure successful completion of backup and recovery tests - Deliver performance optimization results and reduce incidents - Adhere to change management and security compliance policies What You'll Do Database Administration - Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases (2016, 2019, 2022, Azure SQL) - Manage database provisioning, patching, and lifecycle maintenance - Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and capacity - Maintain secure database configurations, roles, and permissions Performance and Optimization - Analyze and optimize T-SQL queries, indexes, and schema designs - Troubleshoot locking, blocking, and deadlock issues - Implement proactive monitoring and alerts Backup, Recovery, and High Availability - Develop and document backup and recovery procedures - Manage HA/DR solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, log shipping, and replication - Ensure compliance with RPO and RTO requirements Automation and Process Improvement - Develop PowerShell and T-SQL scripts for automation - Contribute to automation initiatives within HaloPSA and Azure DevOps - Improve Managed Services standards and runbooks Support and Collaboration - Provide expert-level support for critical database incidents - Collaborate with cloud architects, developers, and service desk teams - Support client onboarding, migrations, and modernization projects About the Client Our client is a leading North American IT solutions provider specializing in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Endpoint Management, Managed IT Services, and Cloud Solutions.
