Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary If you are a product testing profession, Emerson has an exciting role for you We are looking for Engineer- Ovation Digital Twin (ODTwin)to work with our talented pool of testing team to validate software applications designed for Power plant control system simulator (ODTwin), which represent mathematical models of plant equipment for power generation plant simulators. These simulators consist of all types of fossil power plants sub-critical and super-critical pulverized coal, simple and combined cycle, Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boilers as well as aspects of nuclear plants, hydro plants, renewables (e.g. wind, solar, geothermal, etc.) and electrical systems/grid effects. You will participate in various functionality, performance, and compatibility testing of the applications You will be responsible for working with managers, leads, testers and developers to understand the product testing requirements. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: - Perform validation of Ovation Digital Twin and its Tools which represent mathematical models of plant equipment for power generation plant simulators. - Perform Heat balance calculation for the mathematical models (simulation algorithms). - Prepare Boiler, Balance of Plant, Main Steam, Air & Flue Gas, Gas & Steam turbine, Supercritical & Electrical modelling as required for the various test scenarios to be executed. - Perform smoke test, first pass test and regression testing. - Maintain Hardware/Virtual test setups that are part of automated/manual test environment. - Log defects in project defined defect tracking tool. - Read and follow relevant project Engineering practice and standards. - Collaborate and coordinate with other testers. For This Role, You Will Need: - Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering - The candidate should have 2 plus years of experience of which at least 1 year should be in a technology related field with Coal/Combined Cycle Power Plant operation/modeling - Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Experience in Installation of Windows OS, Drivers, and Microsoft Patches - Suggesting and implementing improvements to the testing procedures Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: - Knowledge of performing stoichiometry calculation for various chemical reactions (for example fuel combustion) - Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, electrical, and mechanical systems - Knowledge of various testing methodologies (functional testing, system testing, compatibility testing, performance testing) - Experience ISTQB certificate at Foundation level - Knowledge on virtualization/VM ware Our Culture & Commitment to You: At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
