Company Description Metro Global Solution Center MGSC is internal solution partner for METRO a EUR31 6 Billion international wholesaler with operations in 32 countries through 625 stores a team of 85 000 people globally Metro operates in a further 10 countries with its Food Service Distribution FSD business and it is thus active in a total of 34 countries MGSC location wise is present in Pune India Dusseldorf Germany and Szczecin Poland We provide Finance HR Strategy IT Business Branding operations support to 31 countries speak 24 languages and process over 18 000 transactions a day We are setting tomorrow s standards for customer focus digital solutions and sustainable business models For over 10 years we have been providing services and solutions from our two locations in Pune and Szczecin This has allowed us to gain extensive experience in how we can best serve our internal customers with high quality and passion We believe that we can add value drive efficiency and satisfy our customers Website Company Size 600-650 Headquarters Pune Maharashtra India Type Privately Held Inception 2011 Key Responsibilities 1 Leadership and Management Lead and manage a team of data scientists AI specialists data engineers BI developers Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members Orchestrate C-Level initiatives and make sure all strategic initiatives are aligned and coordinated Regularly reviews progress and performance expectations with leadership teams across the organization providing expectations performance planning feedback training development and performance discussions Plan and execute country roll out and implementation of strategic initiatives Mentors Coaches and trains employees at various levels throughout the company Lead by example in New-Ways-of-Working in line with Metro guiding principles 2 Strategic Planning Develop and execute a comprehensive data and AI strategy aligned with the company s objectives Identify opportunities for leveraging data and AI to drive business value Define and implement a strategic roadmap for the CoE aligning with the organization s goals and objectives to maximize the impact of data and AI Establish a Center of Excellence CoE for Data and AI to drive best practices foster innovation and ensure the highest standards of quality across all data and AI initiatives Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate data and AI initiatives into the overall business strategy Collaborate with Leadership at global Metro AG sites conduct workshops to identify critical to business problems and convert them into projects 3 Project Management End to end accountability from concept design of a business transformation Data and AI Projects to implementation Ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle 4 Technical Expertise Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and AI technologies Provide technical guidance and support to the team Evaluate and implement new tools technologies and methodologies to enhance data and AI capabilities 5 Data Governance and Compliance Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards Promote data quality and integrity across the organization Qualifications 1 Experience 12 years of experience in data science artificial intelligence or related fields Proven experience in managing and leading data and AI teams Demonstrated success in delivering complex data and AI projects 2 Educational Qualification Minimum Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field Advanced degree Master s or PhD in Computer Science Data Science or a related discipline is preferred Graduate and Postgraduates 3 Technical Skills Proficiency in programming languages such as Python R and SQL Experience with AI ML frameworks such as TensorFlow PyTorch or similar Strong understanding of data warehousing ETL processes and big data technologies e g Hadoop Spark Strong understanding of cloud platform and org level implementation expertise 4 Soft Skills Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
